Cotagro is the most important Agro-Export Cooperative in Argentina, primarily engaged in the production, industrialization, and export of peanuts, complemented by twenty diversified business activities.

Even though the peanut tradition dates back almost to its beginnings, in the late 1970s, the need arose to add value to peanut production by processing it for human consumption. With an investment in electronic machinery and the help of the Argentine Cooperatives Association – with export experience – the first international operations were carried out, although without its own identifying brand

Identity and History

In 1981, the first shipment of peanuts was exported under the Cotagro brand.

In 1998, due to international demand and the need for greater infrastructure, a new and modern plant was opened in the industrial park of General Cabrera.

Over the years, investment in technology and the consolidation of General Cabrera as the "peanut region" have strengthened Cotagro’s national and international presence in peanut production, reinforcing its longstanding tradition.

As a member of the Argentine Peanut Chamber, Cotagro actively promotes the "Córdoba Peanut" brand as part of the cluster, delivering its premium-quality product to more than 40 countries worldwide.
